Collaborations with great designers keep expanding for B&B Italia. The latest successful collaboration has been between the Italian interior design leader company and Pilippe Starck, from which the Oh, it rains! line was born: a perfect fusion between the great designer’s aesthetic and the beauty of the Made in Italy. The line presents an outdoor sofa and armchair characterized by an elegant and functional design, suitable for any type of environment, both public and private.

“Oh, it rains!”, sofa outdoor of B&B Italia wins the Wallpaper Design Award 2020, was voted in the “Best Cover Up” category for “its ingenious response to an increasingly unpredictable weather”. The eclectic taste of Philippe Starck is recognizable in the seats with a large and enveloping backrest that creates an intimate and protective natural space. All is enriched with the elegance of the numerous optional cushions and by the precious ergonomics. The elegance of the shapes is combined with its functionality that allows, in case of rain, to fold the large backrest on the seat, working as protection. An innovative design that combines comfort with the preciousness of the Italian style. The work of the Research and Development center of B&B Italia was fundamental in the realization of Oh, it rains! Together with the designer Pilippe Starck, they thought of the folding mechanism, unique in its kind, with ingenious ease. The system, made entirely of aluminum, remains visible, a testament to the dialogue between form and technical functionality.

The nuances proposed range from beige to dark brown, natural shades reminiscent of the raffia. The materials are waterproof and water-repellent, perfect for the outdoors, and the elements are fully customizable, depending on the different needs, with the possibility of integrating the seat with a lateral shelf in Mediterranean stone.
